Stercus : a provocative name for a perfume that isn't all that dangerous; in fact, it's a pleasant unisex composition with oud and leather as the absolute protagonists, with all their dry, woody, honeyed, and soft, sweet hay facets. Gualtieri seems to have completely skipped the top notes: there's no citrus or green, tart material at the start, and we land straight on to the heart/base, with some hayy effects typical of the tobacco, presumably accentuated by the liathrix, which has a sweet, dry, straw-like effect, and very pretty suede elements. It can be worn both day and night . There's also a possible hint of vanilla, from the pod, rich, sweet, and tannic, subtly underscored by a hint of leathery castoreum. And it conjures up familiar images of old shops where Cuban cigars and humidors imbue the walls with their characteristic, sweet, and delicious aroma.
